Qualified Mechanic – 2IC / Leadership Role

We are seeking a Qualified Mechanic with proven leadership experience to step into a 2IC role, supporting the Workshop Manager and helping to lead a high-performing team.

About the Role:

This is a hands-on position that combines technical expertise with leadership. You’ll carry out a range of servicing, diagnostics, and repairs, while also providing direction, mentoring junior staff and ensuring day-to-day operations run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform minor servicing, major repairs, and diagnostic work on a wide variety of vehicles
• Act as 2IC, supporting the Workshop Manager with supervision and workflow management
• Provide leadership and guidance to apprentices and technicians
• Maintain workshop standards, safety practices, and quality workmanship
• Contribute to a positive team culture and strong customer service outcomes

Skills and Experience:

• Current Motor Mechanic Trade Certificate (Light Vehicle)
• Significant experience as a qualified mechanic across multiple makes and models
• Demonstrated leadership or 2IC experience in an automotive workshop environment
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage priorities, communicate effectively and lead by example
